Science Homework
This is the final science homework assignment of the school year. Students are to make a collage of things they now know about science. This can include 15 pictures and/or words. Students should have brought home their notebooks to help them. They also received a white sheet of construction paper to create the collage on. This assignment is due Friday, June 2nd. Homework:
Math - American Eats! Use the menu to answer the questions to Problem Set 2 We are finishing up our Invention Convention prototypes tomorrow. Next week I will be teaching students how to make their digital presentation. Students will receive their final science homework assignment tomorrow, and it will be due next Friday. If your child received a Summer Slugger letter, please have them log in and complete one activity before Tuesday, May 30th. Just a reminder, we are NWEA testing tomorrow for reading at 9:00 - please be on time.
Homework: Math - problem solving page 414 Reading - Twelve Gods of Mt. Olympus - reading comprehension We have four full weeks of school left before the school year is over. Last week we had the greatest amount of missing or incomplete assignments and a large amount of assignments with careless mistakes. Next week we are taking the end of the year NWEA tests for reading and math. It is important that all students remain focused and persevere as the school year draws to an end. Please take a moment to talk to your child about the importance of having a strong finish to the school year and ending on a positive note. It is also important that all students arrive to school on time for testing next week.
Reminder -- tomorrow is the Ray Walk-a-thon. The weather is supposed to be cold and wet. We are walking from 10:45 - 11:15. Please make sure your child comes dressed appropriately.

Math - Cumulative Review (p103) Reading - Greek Mythology Comprehension This is the 5th week of the fourth quarter. Progress reports will go home on Friday.
Reminder - the Ray Walk-a-thon is this Friday, May 19th. Have you registered your child, yet? This week in science, students will begin creating their Invention Convention prototype. In math, we will take an assessment on customary conversions (length, weight, capacity, time). During the second half of the week, we will focus on elapsed time. In reading we will shift from poetry to mythology. Homework Math: How do your parents use math at their job or in every day life? Answer on loose leaf paper. Conversions review worksheet - USE YOUR NOTES!!! Test Tuesday Study multiplication facts - Times Tables Tuesday is tomorrow. Today we practiced customary conversions with length (inches, feet, and yards). Students have a worksheet for homework for review. They should have their notebook with notes from class today with them.
Reading: Homework - Use the poem on Journeys page 601 to complete the Poetry Analysis Worksheet (PAW). Remember that we copied the details into your reading notebooks - use that same format to complete the new poem.
