Sink or Float Challenge - Engineering Design Process
Read the scenario about the treasure hunters. Complete the steps of the Engineering Design Process to help the team recover the treasure. Extra Credit is available on this assignment if you actually create, test, and improve your design. Picture proof is needed for extra credit. You will draw your initial design on a blank paper (given in class). Be sure to label your drawing with the parts and materials it would be build out of. This is the final assignment of the first quarter, so DO YOUR BEST!!! Students need to turn in their procedure, hypothesis, materials, and procedure typed up by Monday and submitted through Google Classroom (10/23).
The Review of Literature, which is the background research needs to be typed up in a 4-5 page report. The assignment has been posted on Google Classroom and is due on Friday, November 3rd. There is no school on Friday, but the assignment must still be submitted no later than 10 PM to be considered on time. Read the "San Andreas Fault" article and answer the questions on pages 77 and 78 of the handout. You may turn the work in early if it is complete.
REMINDER: SCIENCE FAIR RESEARCH SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY MONDAY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE YOUR PAPER TYPED UP YET. YOU WILL NEED THE RESEARCH FOR NEXT STEPS!
