In class today, students simulated an archaeological dig. They uncovered a lot of artifacts. They must now create a story about the people who may have lived at that site based on the artifacts that they found. They have the option of writing a one-page story or creating a comic strip.
Students were also sent home with the Class Dojo access codes. Please be sure you and your child sign-in to keep track of points and receive important messages. Students have math homework tonight. They are to complete Everyday Math (EDM) page 2.
Today we completed the NWEA Reading assessment. Tomorrow morning we will be taking the math portion. Please complete the Parent Questionnaire and return with your child tomorrow. Also, be sure to sign/initial your child's Homework Log each night. Good afternoon parents,
We had a great first day! Thank you for getting your child here to kick off the school year on time. We got a lot accomplished for the first day. We began our class novel The Whipping Boy, took a multiplication fact test, and did many getting to know you activities. I am very excited for the rest of the year. If your child did not bring paper towel, kleenex, wet wipes, dry erase markers, or ziplock bags today, don't worry about until January. We have plenty to get the school year started. We will be taking the NWEA reading test tomorrow and the math test on Thursday. Finally, your child is bringing home a parent letter and parent questionnaire. Please complete the questionnaire and send it with your child no later than Thursday, September 8th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. Welcome to the 2016 - 2017 school year. I am looking forward to having your child in my fourth grade class and working with you to help ensure your child's true potential is met. On this page you will find updates and class information.
