2nd Quarter Extra Credit Options
6th Grade - Your topic must have something to do with Oceans and Atmosphere. 5th Grade - Your topic can be anything from your Biosphere unit of study. Choose 1 of the activities below. All work is to be done on paper and turned in no later than Monday, January 28th at the beginning of your class period. Work is NOT to be submitted through Google Classroom. All work must be completed in students’ own handwriting. No typed or computerized work will be accepted. NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED! Draw A Poster You may draw a poster of a historical scientific event, person or topic. It must be about an event or topic that we have studied. You must also furnish a written bibliography of sources you used to furnish ideas on the back. Your poster should include key scientific concepts and definitions of key vocabulary terms. Your poster must be neatly done and colored. Crossword Puzzle: Create a crossword puzzle using a minimum of twenty terms from the unit of study mentioned above. Write clues to solve your puzzle and include a key! Use graph paper for your crossword puzzle. Outline the boxes that would be filled in. Make sure your clues are not too easy or too difficult. Everything must be spelled correctly. Make sure your work is neatly done and age/grade level appropriate. Children’s Book: Write a short story from one of the topics from the units mentioned above. Make sure to include a book cover, author, illustrations, vocabulary and page numbers. 5 page minimum. Spelling, neatness, grammar, and punctuation count. All illustrations should be colored.
