To Ray Parents and Families, This spring, the CTU had all members vote for how to spend their "71 fifteen (15) minute start-of-the-day selfdirected preparation periods." Multiple options were given, and the staff voted to have those prep periods used twice a week, for the first fifteen minutes. In order to follow this directive, we created the Town Hall opportunity to give administrators a chance to make whole school announcements and reminders as well as to hear from students about their Ray experience. Undoubtedly, a new morning transition has come with some hiccups. Although Day 2 was much better than Day 1, we still want to ensure there isn't chaos. The Town Halls with 6th-8th grade, in particular, were great opportunities to start the day and connect with students and we will continue the established routine with these grades. For students in grades K-5, however, we are making the following adjustment effective Friday, September 15: students will continue to walk in the building with paraprofessionals, but will now walk to their classroom and line up outside of each room. Paraprofessionals will help students take off coats / bags and prepare for their class. At 9 am, teachers will welcome students into the classroom. We will then share Town Hall announcements over the loudspeaker. We thank you for your flexibility during this transition as we work to comply with new CTU directives. If you are interested in volunteering to help with these Monday and Friday transitions, please reach out to Mrs. Neely. Make it a Great Year to be a Ray Warrior! Sincerely, Megan Thole and Gayle Harris-Neely Comments are closed.
