Dear 6th Grade Families, Ray PTO is working together with 3 other neighborhood schools (Shoesmith, Bret Harte, and Kozminski) to put on a second mattress sale to raise money for our schools. Last year the sale raised $1500 for each participating school. The sale will take place at Shoesmith School (1330 E. 50th Street) on Saturday, September 22 and all of the participating schools are asked to contribute volunteers to cover shifts throughout the day. We were wondering if three sixth grade parent-child teams might be willing to sign up for the 8am-10am set up shift that day and two other sixth grade parent-child teams would be willing to sign up for the 5-6pm clean-up shift. It would be ideal if these families were planning to be at Ray for 7th grade because in working together to set up and clean up, you'll get to know each other and thereby serve as ambassadors of a sort for the 2019-2020 7th grade class at Ray. Here is the link to sign up for a shift: https://signup.com/client/ invitation2/secure/2436116/ false#/invitation Thank you so much for considering this! Sincerely, Katie Gruber, on behalf of Friends of Ray School PTO P.S. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions: [email protected] or 773-988-9869. TUTORING OPPORTUNITY If you are interested in a free tutoring service provided by the University of Chicago for your child, please see the attached flyer.
I hope everyone is excited for day 1. Your children are in for a year of new learning. They will be bringing home a Back to School Packet with many forms that need to be completed and returned. If possible, please return all forms by this Friday (9/8). If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. We will have Class Dojo set up by the end of this week as well. A flyer is being sent home with more details about this year's science classes. They are also attached below. The 5_6 is the 5th grade flyer.
