First, I would like to say congratulations to both Yucheng Liu and Mario Alliey for their outstanding performance at the Ray School Spelling Bee today!
Your child should be bringing home their biography today as well as a note (on yellow paper) about the Living Wax Museum taking place on Wednesday, February 2nd. This weekend I am asking students to read at least 35 more pages in their book, so that they can have their biography finished next week. Students were also shown how to navigate student portal, so they can check their grades. They have their username and password written on an index card, and it should be in their take home folder. I want them to sit down with you once a week and go over their grades. I want them to click on each grade, so that they can look at the averages for each category in every subject. Students should be more knowledgeable about their grades and take ownership in maintaining good grades. Ray School is asking that Monday be a Day on not a Day off -In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We are asking students to commit to a day of service whether that be at home, church, shelter, hospital, etc. When they return to school on Tuesday, they will write about their experience.
